Hot Pepper Relish
List of Ingredients
4 hot red peppers
18 yellow hot peppers
1 pint prepared yellow mustard
1 pint vinegar
1 1/2 lbs. brown sugar
1/2 tbsp. salt
3/4 cup flour
Recipe
Grind peppers and reserve their juices.
Add mustard, vinegar, brown sugar and salt in a saucepan and cook 20 minutes. Mix flour and reserved pepper juice to make a paste. Add 1 cup hot pepper mixture to flour mixture and then return all to saucepan and cook another 5 minutes.
Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
This spread is delicious on sandwiches and also a tablespoon spruces up deviled eggs.
