    I have always had trouble with bagels - the boiling just does not work for me. This is a no boil recipe. The interior texture is soft and the flavor is wonderful.

    List of Ingredients




    1 c water
    1 egg
    2 tbsp vegetable oil
    2 tbsp sugar
    1 tsp salt
    3 1/3 c bread flour
    2 tsp yeast

    Recipe



    This is for a 1 1/2 lb loaf.
    Use the manual setting on the ABM.
    When the machine is done, form the bagels (10 to 12).
    Allow to rise.
    Glaze with an egg glaze (1 egg and 2 tbsp water).
    Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until golden.

    Notes:
    I used all purpose flour and 1 tbsp wheat gluten; large egg.
    These toast so well!!
