    Chocolate Raspberry Crumb Bars

    List of Ingredients





    1 c butter, softened
    2 c flour
    1/2 c sugar*
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 c Nestle Semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
    14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    1/2 c chopped nuts, optional
    1/3 c seedless raspberry jam





    Recipe



    Preheat to 350.
    Grease a 13 X 9 pan.
    Beat softened butter in a large bowl until creamy.
    Beat in flour, sugar and salt until crumbly.
    Press 1 3/4 c of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

    Combine 1 c chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a small, heavy duty saucepan.
    Warm over low heat and stir until chips are melted.
    Spread over baked crust.

    STir nuts into remaining crust batter.
    Sprinkle over chocolate layer.
    Drop teaspoonfuls of raspberry jam over top.
    Top with remaining chocolate chips.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes more or until center is set.
    Cool in pan on a wire rack.

    NOTES:
    Great combination of flavors.
    Original recipe calls for 1/2 c packed light brown sugar*.
    My crust mixture did not really get crumbly.
    I had to bake a little longer.
