Recipe Introduction
Very good and easy to make too. In the cookbook, the recipe is attributed to "Recipes from Miss Daisy's".
List of Ingredients
1 1/2 lb round steak cut 3/4 inches thick
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c milk
1/2 c fine dry bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tbsp accent seasoning
3 tbsp bacon drippings
1/2 c water
1/4 tsp leaf oregano
1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp paprika
6 small onions
Recipe
Use a large, oven proof skillet.
Preheat to 325.
Cut the round steak into serving pieces and pound each so it's only 1/2 inch thick.
Beat egg then add milk and mix.
Combine bread crumbs, 1 tsp salt, pepper and Accent.
Dip the steaks in the milk/egg mixture, then dredge into the bread crumb mixture.
Brown meat in skillet in bacon drippings. Add water.
Sprinkle the oregano equally on the steaks.
Sprinkle 2 tsp Parmesan cheese on each piece of steak.
Combine 1/4 tsp salt and the paprika; then mix in onions.
Add onions to the meat.
Cover pan tightly and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Notes: I baked for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
I omitted the Accent due to allergies.
