    This is the first home made bread recipe I really tried and liked. I've made it many times and it is a family favorite.

    List of Ingredients




    White bread

    2 pkg dry yeast

    3 c flour

    2 1/4 tbsp sugar

    3 3/8 tsp salt

    -

    2 1/4 tbsp butter

    3 c very warm water

    Recipe





    Combine the yeast, flour, sugar and salt; mix well

    Put the butter in the warm water and beat for about 3 to 4 minutes.

    Add the flour mixture, a cup at a time, and mix well.

    After all the flour is added, the dough should be kneading consistency.

    Knead until the dough is elastic.

    Put in greased bowl, cover with clean towel, and allow to rise until doubled.

    Punch dough down and let it rise again, until doubled.

    With oiled hands, shape dough into 2 loaves

    Let rise in pans for about 1 hour

    Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.
