    Recipe Introduction

So very simple to make and very good to eat!

    List of Ingredients

    2 c biscuit mix
    2 tbsp sugar
    1 tsp instant coffee granules
    1/4 c milk
    1 beaten egg
1 tsp finely shredded orange peel
    melted butter or margarine
    1/2 c sugar
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp nutmeg

    Recipe

Combine biscuit mix and sugar in a mixing bowl.
Combine coffee granules, milk, egg and orange peel in another bowl, mixing well.
Combine wet ingredients to dry and stir just until moistened.
Knead on floured surface about 10 or 12 times.
    Roll to 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut with a floured 2 1/2 inch doughnut cutter.
Twist into a figure 8 and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
Preheat to 400 and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Brush lightly with melted butter, then sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
    Makes 8.

    NOTES:
    I used -
    -Bisquick
-vanilla malted milk powder in place of the coffee granules
    -1/3 tsp dried orange peel
    -a large egg
    -lowfat milk.
I baked for 10 minutes on parchment paper.
My doughnut cutter is about 2 inches and I got 12 doughnuts.
I used about 3 tbsp melted butter and had plenty for tops and bottoms. Next time I will try 2 tbsp melted butter.
Next time, I will reduce the cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg by half.
