    So rich, so yummy.

    List of Ingredients




    3 c quick cooking oats
    2 1/2 c flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 c butter
    2 c sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp vanilla
    1 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
    2 tbsp butter
    1/2 c chopped pecans or almonds, optional
    2 tsp vanilla

    Recipe



    Stir together oats, flour, baking soda and salt.
    In large bowl, beat the 1 c butter for 30 seconds at medium speed of electric mixer.
    Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
    Add eggs and 2 tsp vanilla; mix.
    Add dry ingredients and mix well.
    Set aside.
    In a saucepan, combine chocolate chips, butter and sweetened condensed milk.
    Heat till chips and butter have melted, low heat and stirring constantly.
    Rmove and add vanilla and nuts, if using.

    In a greased 9 x 13 baking pan, press about 2/3 of the oat mixture.
    Pour the chocolate mixture on top and spread evenly.
    Drop in small amounts the remaining oat mixture on top.
    Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until the topping is lightly browned.
    Cool on a wire rack and cut into 48 bars.

    Notes: I used large eggs, unsalted butter and omitted the nuts.
    I baked for 25 minutes.
    I think this would be good with a mixture of chocolate and peanut butter chips.
