Double Fudge Saucepan Brownies
Double Fudge Saucepan Brownies
1/2 c sugar
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp water
2 c (12 oz) chocolate chips, (semi sweet chocolate) divided
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 c flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c chopped nuts, optional
Preheat to 325.
Combine sugar, butter and water in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it comes to a full boil.
Remove from heat and immediately add 1 c chocolate chips. Stir until melted.
Add eggs and vanilla, stir until blended.
Add flour, baking soda and salt, stir until blended.
Add remaining cup of chocolate chips and mix.
Add nuts if desired, mix.
Pour into greased 9 inch square pan.
Bake at 325 for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the brownies just start to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Cool completely before cutting. (IF you can wait that long!!)
NOTES: Have ingredients measured and ready, this goes together very quickly.
This is an old Hershey's recipe and a family favorite. The recipe says it makes 1 1/2 dozen but in my house, it makes 9.... :-)
