    Recipe Introduction

    So simple and great taste.

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 c butter, softened
    3/4 c sugar *
    1 egg
    1 tbsp milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp maple extract *
    1 1/4 c flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
    1/2 c nuts, chopped

    Recipe

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg, milk, vanilla and maple extract and mix well.
Add dry ingredients and mix until blended.
Add 1/2 c chocolate chips and nuts, mix.
Spread in greased 8 inch square microwave baking dish.
Top with remaining 1/2 c chocolate chips.
Bake at 50% power for 5 minutes, turn, then continue for 5 to 6 minutes until done.
    Cool, cut into bars.
Makes 24 small bars ( I didn't get that many).

    Notes:
*Original recipe called for packed brown sugar, I used granulated sugar and added maple extract.

I used real butter and a large egg.

My microwave is 1100 watts. I did not stop and turn after 5 minutes as mine has a turntable. I baked for a total of 8 1/2 minutes.

These are thick bars, I think they could be baked in a 9 inch dish if the time was adjusted.
