Ghiradelli Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe Introduction
Wow, are these good! The Ghiradelli chocolate chips are so rich and yummy.
List of Ingredients
2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c butter, softened
1 1/2 c sugar*
2 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
1 c walnuts, chopped, optional
12 oz bag Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips
*original recipe calls for 3/4 c sugar and 3/4 c brown sugar
Recipe
Preheat to 375.
Combine dry ingredients and set aside.
On medium speed of an electric mixer, beat butter with sugar (or sugars) unitl creamy, about 4 minutes. The color of this mixture should be light.
Add vanilla at low speed.
One at a time, add eggs, beating well at low speed after each addition.
Gradually add mixed dry ingredients.
Add nuts, if desired, and chocolate chips.
Drop by tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake until golden brown, about 9 to 11 minutes.
Makes about 48 cookies.
Notes:
I used unsalted butter and large eggs at room temperature.
I did not add the walnuts.
I used white sugar and no brown sugar.
