Mud Bars
List of Ingredients
1 c + 2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c butter, softened to room temp
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
12 oz chocolate chips (semi-sweet), divided
1/2 c nuts, optional
Recipe
Preheat to 375. Line a 9 inch square pan with foil.
Measure 2/3 c chocolate chips and set aside for topping.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
In another bowl, beat brown sugar, butter and vanilla. Beat till creamy.
Add egg and beat well.
Add flour mixture and mix.
Stir in unmeasured chips and nuts.
Spread in foil lined pan and bake at 375 for 23 to 25 minutes.
Immediately sprinkle reserved 2/3 c of chocolate chips on top. When chips are shiny, spread evenly.
when cooled, refrigerate 5 to 10 minutes to set chocolate.
