    Snickerdoodles

    List of Ingredients






    1/2 c margarine, softened
    1/2 c shortening
    1 1/2 c sugar
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c flour
    2 tsp cream of tartar
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 tbsp sugar
    2 tsp cinnamon

    Recipe





    Preheat to 375.

    Mix butter, shortening, 1 1/2 c sugar, and eggs. Mix well.
    Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
    Chill dough at least 1 hour.

    Mix the 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon together.
    Shape dough into balls - use a tsp for smaller cookies, tbsp for large cookies
    Roll balls in cinnamon/sugar mix.
    Place on cookie sheet. Flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar/cinnamon mixture.

    As cookies bake, you may press down on them again if a very flat cookie is desired.

    Bake about 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cookies will be light in color.

    Makes 30 large cookies.

    NOTES:
    I like to mix some colored sugars (green and/or red) with the cinnamon/sugar mix to make the cookies festive
    for Christmas.
