Banana Cake

Banana Cake

2/3 c shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 c mashed bananas (about 3 medium-large, ripe)
4 tbsp sour cream
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 c chopped walnuts



Recipe





Sift dry ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat thoroughly after each addition.
Mix sour cream with the mashed bananas and add alternately with the sifted dry ingredients. Add nuts. Pour into 2
9-inch round pans. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes. Notes: Recipe suggests seven minute icing or cream cheese icing. I
used cream cheese and it was delicious. I did not add the walnuts. My son is not overly fond of bananas, but he
