Recipe Introduction


This cake is so fast and simple to make. By the time the oven is preheated, it's mixed and ready to bake. Very moist, wonderful flavor a real treat!


List of Ingredients




2 c sifted flour
1 3/4 c sugar
1/3 tsp baking powder
1 3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/3 c cocoa
2/3 c shortening
1 c water
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs

Recipe



Preheat to 375.
Grease a 9 x 13 baking pan.
Sift together all dry ingredients.
Add shortening, water and vanilla; mix for 2 minutes.
Scrape bowl.
Add eggs and beat for 2 more minutes.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until cake tests done. (toothpick test)

Notes:
I used butter flavor shortening and large eggs.
I baked for 35 minutes.

I frosted with chocolate buttercream frosting.
