List of Ingredients




1 1/2 c flour, sifted
1 c sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp cocoa
3 tbsp shortening
1 c sour milk
1 tsp vanilla

Recipe



Preheat to 350.
Grease and flour a 9x9 pan.
Combine dry ingredients and mix well;
Add shortening, milk and vanilla.
Beat hard for 2 minutes by hand or on medium speed of electric mixer.
Pour into prepared baking pan.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until cake springs back to touch.

9 servings, 229 calories each

Notes:I used butter flavor shortening.
I baked for 28 minutes.
