    List of Ingredients




    Brownies


    8 oz German sweet baking chocolate
    1/2 c butter or margarine (I used unsalted butter)
    1 1/2 c flour
    1 c sugar
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 eggs (I used large eggs)



    Coconut-Pecan Frosting

    1/2 c sugar
    1/4 c butter or margarine (I used unsalted butter)
    1/3 c evaporated milk
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
    2 c shredded sweetened coconut
    2/3 c chopped pecans

    Brownies


    Preheat to 350.
    Grease a 13 x 9 pan.
    Heat chocolate and butter in a 3 quart saucepan over low heat, stir frequently, until melted. Remove from heat.
    Add remaing brownie ingredients.
    Spread batter in pan.
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    Cool completely then frost.
    Makes 32 brownies. (not in my house!)

    Coconut-Pecan Frosting



    Combine sugar, butter, evaporated milk, vanilla and egg yolks in 1 1/2 quart saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat for about 12 minutes, stir constantly, until thick and golden brown.
    Remove from heat, then add pecans and coconut.
    Beat until it's of spreading consistency.
    Spread on cooled brownies.
