Pie crust for single crust 9-inch pie
1 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 c crushed soda crackers
8 oz tomato sauce
1/4 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped green pepper
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Cheese Topping:
1 beaten egg
1/4 c milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 c grated Cheddar cheese
Recipe
Brown meat and drain.
Mix with remaining pie ingredients and pour into unbaked shell.
Combine egg and milk. Add seasonings and stir well.
Add cheese and stir.
Spread over pie filling.
Cover edges of pastry with foil.
BAke 425 for 15 minutes.
Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes.
6 to 8 servings.
NOTES:
I used more than 1 lb ground beef.
I made a 10 inch pie shell.
I sauted the onion and green pepper until the onion was traslucent.
I used sharp Cheddar cheese.
I baked my pie in a glass pie dish at 375 for 35 minutes.
