    2 cups brown sugar
    2 cups flour
    1/2 cup softened butter
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 tablespoon nutmeg (canned) or 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (fresh)
    1 cup sour cream/plain yogurt/soured milk/buttermilk
    chopped nuts

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Completely mix flour and brown sugar.
    Work in butter with fingers until uniform in texture.
    Place half of this mixture in the bottom of a 9" pan. Smooth the mixture out, but do not press it.
    Add to the remaining mixture nutmeg and soda.
    Beat egg with sour cream and beat into the remaining dry mixture.
    Spread over dry mixture in the baking pan.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg and finely chopped nuts.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

    Fruffy's notes - I have made sillypooh's cake many times. I use my food processor for it. First I chop the nuts, remove from bowl. Then I put in the flour, sugar and butter and pulse. Remove what I need for the crust and to the remainder left in the bowl add the rest of the ingredients and mix. It works great and is really quick!
