    $100 Caramel Creme Cake

    2 ½ cups sugar
    5 eggs
    3 cups cake flour
    4 tsp. cocoa
    ¼ tsp. salt
    1 cup butter or Crisco (I prefer to use real butter)
    1 cup of buttermilk
    5 tsp. liquid coffee (I use instant coffee to make this, but regular brewed coffee is fine too)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. vanilla

    Caramel Creme Frosting.


    ½ cup butter
    1 egg yolk
    2 tsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 tbsp. liquid coffee
    1 box powdered sugar

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add beaten egg yolks.
    Add baking soda to the buttermilk.
    Then add sifted dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk mixture.
    Stir in the coffee and vanilla.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into 3 well greased and floured cake pans.
    Bake at 350° F for 25-30 minutes.
    Let cool, and then frost with $100 Caramel Creme Frosting.

    Caramel Creme Frosting

    Add the ingredients in the order listed, beating until light and fluffy.
