    Chocolate Drizzled Cherry Bars

    List of Ingredients





    Crumb Mixture ingredients:
    2 cups all purpose flour
    2 cups of quick cooking oats
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 1/4 cups butter softened

    Filling Ingredients:
    1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
    1 teaspoon almond extract

    Glaze ingredients:
    1/2 cup of chocolate chips
    1 Tablespoon shortening

    Recipe




    Preheat oven to 350*.
    Combine all crumb ingredients in large bowl.
    Beat at low speed until crumbly.
    Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the crumb mixture for on top- set aside.
    Press the remaining crumb mixture on the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking pan.
    Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are very lightly browned.

    Meanwhile, stir together all filling ingredients in a bowl.
    Spread filling over hot, partially baked crust, and then add the rest of the crumb mixture on top of the cherries.
    Continue baking for 27-32 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a 1 qt. saucepan over low heat. stirring often.
    Drizzle over bars. Cool completely, cut into bars.
