Chopped Apple Torte
(from Evelyn 1975)

2 c. finely chopped apples
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. sifted flour (but I rarely sift anything these days)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 beaten egg
3 tbsp. butter


(Must be in an 8-inch pan I would guess at 350 degrees)



Recipe




Mix chopped apples and nuts together.
Add beaten egg, vanilla and butter. Pour over dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Batter will be stiff. Spread in a pan and bake until toothpick comes out clean.
Spread Cool Whip on top when serving.

Evelyn’s Note: Very moist and good!
