    2/3 c shortening
    2 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 lb light brown sugar
    1/2 tsp salt
    3 eggs
    3/4 c nuts, opt
    2 3/4 c flour
    12 oz pkg chocolate chips

    Recipe



    Preheat to 350.
    Mix shortening and sugar; blend well.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt
    Add to egg mixture about 1/3 of batter at a time.
    Add chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
    Batter is very thick.
    Spread in a 10 by 15 baking sheet with an edge.
    Bake for 25 minutes.
    Cool slightly, cut and cool completely.
