    A cherry pie is always a treat!

    List of Ingredients




    double crust for a 9-inch pie
    4 tbsp quick cooking tapioca
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 c sugar
    4 c pitted Raninier cherries
    1/4 tsp almond extract
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 1/2 tbsp butter, cut into thin slices

    Recipe



    Preheat to 400.
    In large mixing bowl, comibne tapioca, salt, sugar and pitted cherries.
    Add extracts and gently mix.
    Let stand for 15 minutes (prepare crust while waiting)
    Place bottom crust in pie dish
    Pour cherry mixture into crust.
    Dot with butter.
    Place remaining crust on top and flute edges.
    Cut vents in the top of the pie.
    Bake for 50 minutes or until golden brown.

    Tip - place pie dish on foil lined cookie sheet to catch any drips.

    8 servings
