Recipe Introduction
Kez's Notes - I made a recipe very similar to Depression Brownies when I was in high school in the late 50's. This recipe came from my home economics class and was called Graham Cracker Brownies. Maybe the word Depression was too depressing for my teacher!! :O)
List of Ingredients
Graham Cracker Brownies
2c. graham cracker crumbs
1- 6 oz. package chocolate chips
1c. chopped walnuts
dash salt
Mix all above well. Add and mix well:
1 can Easgle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Recipe
Spread in WELL greased 8" x 16" pan.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
These cookies must be cut and taken out of the pan immediately, or as Jeanie says, they will never come out of the pan. They should not be gooey. Chewy, but not gooey. This recipe calls for a larger pan and a 350 degree oven rather than the 325. That could make the difference in the "gooeyness" as mentioned earlier
