This is one of our Favorite salads. I take it to pot lucks and socials and people are surprised it is cabbage I guess just the ones who don't think they like cabbage are surprised).
It is from Treasured Recipes, Favorite Recipes of Food Editors and is usually bought as a fundraiser for MADD.

List of Ingredients
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped green pepper (I have left it out per requests)
1/2 c. shopped cucumber
1 Tblsp. butter
1/2 cup coarsely chopped dry roasted peanuts
2 Tblsp. Parmesan cheese (or more)
Recipe
Toss cabbage and celery together. Chill. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, onions, green pepper and cucumber in small bowl. Chill.
Just before serving, melted butter in small skillet. Add peanuts and heat until lightly browned. Immediately stir in cheese. Toss chilled vegetables with dressing. Sprinkle peanut mixture on top and serve.
Filling and crunchy satisfaction!
