Self-Filled Cupcakes

1 cake mix prepared as directed on the box
Fill cupcake tins 2/3 full
Mix up filling:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
Pinch of salt
6 oz. chocolate chips
Recipe
Cream cheese with sugar. Beat in egg and salt. Add chips. Stir to blend.
Drop 1 rounded teaspoonful of filling into the center of each unbaked cupcake. Bake as usual. Cool and frost as usual.
Sherry's Note: I really like these with a chocolate cake mix.
