    Sour Cream Raisin Biscuits

    Source of Recipe

    Pat T at Rounders

    List of Ingredients

    SOUR CREAM RAISIN BISCUITS

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup butter, cold
    3/4 cup raisins
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1/2 cup milk

    Recipe

Note: To use a baking mix (like Bisquick), replace first 5 ingredients with 2 cups baking mix, adding a Tblsp. of sugar.

Place first 6 ingredients (or 2 cups of baking mix) in a large bowl and work in the butter with a pastry cutter.

Add the raisins next, before adding the milk, to be sure to get them well blended into the mixture.

Pour in the sour cream and milk.

Knead the dough lightly, adding a little extra flour if needed to keep from sticking.

Roll dough out onto a floured surface and cut out your biscuits.

Bake at 450° F. for 15-20 minutes. These biscuits are so moist with the sour cream; they take a little longer to bake. Frost with confectioners’ sugar icing, if desired.
