Strawberry French Toast

List of Ingredients




4 slices, 1 1/2 inch thick, bread
2 c sliced strawberries
4 eggs
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp vanila
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/4 c sugar, opt.
1/8 tbsp grated orange rind, opt.
powdered sugar
syrup


Recipe



Cut each slice of bread into thirds.
Cut a pocket in the edge of each slice of bread and fill with strawberries.
Combine eggs, m ilk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar and orange rind.
Dip - do not soak - bread slices in mixture.
Cook on hot griddle until golden brown on both sides.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and top with additional strawberries.
Serve immediately with syrup.
