Strawberry Lemonade

3 1/2 c water
1 3/4 c sugar
strips of zest from 2 lemons
1 pint strawberries, hulled
1 1/2 c fresh lemon juice ( 6 to 9 lemons)

Put 1 1/2 c water and 1 1/2 c sugar in a saucepan with the lemon zest.
Bring to boil, then simmer for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat; set aside for 10 minutes.
Puree the hulled strawberries and 1/4 c sugar in blender or food processor.
Strain into large pitcher.
Strain sugar and water; add to pitcher.
Add lemon juice and remaing water to pitcher.
Mix.
Chill well.
Stir before serving.
Pour over lots of ice and top with a fresh strawberry
