1 quart strawberries, divided
1 1/2 c boiling water
1 lg (8 oz) pkg red jello, (may use 2 small pkg)
1 c cold water plus ice cubes
1 pkg,12 oz, pound cake cut into 10 slices
1 1/3 c blueberries, divided
2 pkg (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1/4 c sugar
8 oz whipped topping, thawedRecipe
Slice 1 c strawberries.
Halve the remaining strawberries.
Stir boiling water into gelatin at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
add enough ice cubest to cold water to measure 2 c.
add to gelatin; stir till ice is melted.
Refrigerate 5 minutes or until slightly thickened - should be the consistency of unbeaten egg whites
Meanwhile, line 13 x9 dish with cake slices.
STir sliced strawerries and 1 c blueberries into thickened gelatin.
Spoon over cake slices
Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm.
Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
STir in whipped topping.
Spread mixture over firm gelatin.
Arrange remaining berries on your flag.
16 servings.
