Recipe Introduction
A very good, basic recipe.
List of Ingredients
6 to 8 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced to make 6 cups
1/4 c chopped onion
1/3 c flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 c milk
Recipe
Place half of the potato slices in a greased 2-quart baking dish.
Add half the onion and sprinkle half of the flour over the onion layer.
Repeat layers.
Sprinkle on salt and pepper.
Pour milk over all and do not stir.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/4 hours, covered.
Uncover and bake an additional 15 to 30 minutes.
6 servings.
Notes:
I used about 1/2 c onion.
I used a shaker to sprinkle the flour so it did not clump.
I topped with lightly buttered bread crumbs.
I baked for 1 1/4 hours covered, 20 minutes uncovered.
