    LAYERED PECAN PIE

    Yield: 6 to 8 servings


    List of Ingredients


    • First layer:
    • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • dash salt
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 teaspoon double-strength vanilla or 1 teaspoon regular vanilla
    • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
    • 1 1/4 cup chopped pecans
    • Second layer:
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 cup light corn syrup
    • 1/2 teaspoon double-strength vanilla or 1 teaspoon regular vanilla


    Instructions


    1. To prepare first layer: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
    2. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and salt. Beat until smooth.
    3. Add egg and vanilla.
    4. Stir until combined.
    5. Spoon into pie shell; sprinkle with pecans.
    6. To prepare second layer: In a meduim bowl, combine eggs, corn syrup, sugar and vanilla.
    7. Beat well; pour over pecans.
    8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set.
