    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
    • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 cans (21 oz. each) cherry pie filling
    • GLAZE
    • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk


    Instructions


    1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
    2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    3. Beat in the extracts.
    4. Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix until combined.
    5. Spread 3 cups batter into a greased 15x10x1 baking pan.
    6. Spread with pie filling.
    7. Drop the remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over filling.
    8. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
    9. Cool on a wire rack.
    10. Combine the glaze ingredients; drizzle over bars.
    11. Yield: 5 dozen
