    List of Ingredients


    • 3/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2 1/4 cups flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 cup chopped nuts
    • 1/3 cup chopped maraschino cherries
    • 1 3/4 cup crushed cornflakes
    • 30-35 maraschino cherries, halved


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well aftr each addition.
    2. Add milk and vanilla. mix well
    3. Combine the flour, baking powder,salt and baking soda: add to cream mixture. Stir in nuts, and chopped cherries.
    4. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, roll in cornflakes.
    5. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet press cherry half into center of each.
    6. Bake at 350 for 14-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remover to wire racks to cool
    7. YIELD: 5 1/2 DOZEN
