    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup butter, softened
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 2 cups all purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups chopped walnuts
    • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate melted
    • FROSTING
    • 5 tablespoons all purpose flour
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 cup softened butter
    • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar
    2. Beat in eggs and vanilla
    3. Add flour and salt; Mix well
    4. Fold in walnuts.
    5. Spread half of the batter into a grease 13x9x2 baking pan.
    6. Add chocolate to the remaining batter; mix well.
    7. Carefully spread over batter in pan.
    8. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done.
    9. Cool completely.
    10. For frosthing, mix flour and milk in a saucepan.
    11. Cook and stir over medium heat until a thick paste froms, about 10 minutes
    12. In a mixing bowl cream butter and confectioners' sugar.
    13. Add vanilla and mix well
    14. Gradually add the milk mixture; beat for 5 minutes
    15. Frost cake
    16. Store in the refrigerator
    17. Yield: 20-24 servings.
