Shrimp and Grits by Alan

Season mix:
2 t granulated garlic
2 t thyme
1 t paprika
1 t celery salt
1/2 t cayenne
1/2 t rosemary
1/2 t salt
1 t black pepper
wostershire and butter to taste
about 1 1/2 pounds of medium shrimp
about 4 ounces of tasso (sliced)
Alfredo sauce:
1/4 cup butter
1 clove garlic (chopped)
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
parsley for garnish
Grits: 1 cup stone ground grits to 4 cups water, salt.
Recipe
Instructions:
Grits: bring water and salt to boil. Stir in grits. return to boil. Lower heat to low and simmer covered, about 35 to 45 minutes until done.
Alfredo sauce: melt butter, add cream and simmer for about 5 minutes on low.
Add garlic and cheese. Simmer a couple of more minutes.
Shrimp and Tasso: In a baggy, mix the shrimp with the seasoning mix. Sauté seasoned shrimp, some butter (maybe 4 tbsp) and several shakes of wostershire, until shrimp is almost done. Add tasso and simmer for another 2 minutes (Low, don't want shrimp over cooked).
Finally, mix Alfredo into the shrimp mixture, to your liking. Serve over grits and top with parsley.
