    It is so moist and it stays
    moist.

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups sugar
    2/3 cup shortening
    3 eggs
    1/4 cup buttermilk
    2 cups flour
    3 Tbsp. cocoa (heaping)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. baking soda
    3 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup boiling water

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and buttermilk,
    beating well.

    Sift together flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Gradually add
    the dry ingredients to the egg mixture. Add vanilla and boiling
    water.

    Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes or longer, testing with a
    toothpick, or cake tester.
