1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves (ground)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
1 c. light molasses (dark may be
used, if preferred)
1/2 c. hot water

Recipe



Sift flour with baking soda, spices and salt. Set aside. In
large bowl, beat eggs, butter, molasses and water together.
Add flour mixture, beat until smooth. Bake at 375 degrees for
30 to 35 minutes.
