HOW TO BAKE A FRESH HAM OR HALF HAM
Source of Recipe

Using a sharp knife, cut off the skin and most of the fat on the
ham leaving
just a thin layer of fat on top side. Score this layer of fat
into a diamond
design. Place in a shallow baking pan and cover securely with
aluminum foil.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Reduce oven temperature to 300 and
continue baking 1
to 3 additional hours, depending on the size of the ham. About 30
minutes
before ham is done, remove from oven, uncover, and stud with
cloves. Combine
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar and 1/4 cup cola. Spread over
top of ham.
Continue baking, uncovered, until ham is done.
Decorate with maraschino cherry halves and pineapple slices, if
desired.
NOTE: Put Coca Cola or Dr. Pepper in a frying pan and heat up
leftover ham.
It picks up the flavor.
