BRISKET WITH SAURKRAUT
List of Ingredients
1 pt saurkraut
2 T flour
1 T sugar
1 t caraway seed
3 or 4 lb brisket
1 large onion, sliced
1 large potato, sliced
6 whole peppercorns
Recipe
Place half of saurkraut in bottom of dutch oven. Sprinkle with flour, sugar, and caraway seed. Place brisket on top of saurkraut, onion slices over brisket, and potato slices over onion. Cover with boiling water. Add peppercorns. Cover and simmer on low heat 2 to 3 hours, until tender.
