    Fried Okra

    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. fresh okra
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 cup self-rising flour
    1/4 cup buttermilk
    1 cup self-rising corn meal
    salt and pepper to taste
    vegetagle oil for frying

    Recipe



    Wash and slice okra; pat dry with paper towls. Mix flour and cornmeal together and season with salt and pepper; set aside. Combine eggs and buttermilk; add okra, and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Combine four and cornmeal. Drain okra small portions at a time, using a slotted spoon. Dredge okra, small portions at a time, in flour and cornmeal mixutre. Fry in heavy saucepan. Fry okra until golden brown and drain on paper towels. Serve hot. Serves 4.
