    Cake Ingredients:
    1 box of Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge cake mix
    1 pack of instant pudding chocolate fudge mix
    1 cup (extra) of water

    Frosting:

    1 cup evaporated milk
    1 cup sugar
    3 egg yolks
    ¼ lb. margarine (1 stick)
    1 t. vanilla
    1-1/2 cups coconut
    1 cup walnuts or pecans

    Preparation directions to make the German Chocolate Cake:

    Whisk both mixes and combine with eggs, oil/butter and water as directed on cake packaging, plus 1 extra cup of water. Beat with hand mixer until smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Pour the batter that you just prepared into 2 cake pans that have been greased.
    Bake as in the oven using the cake mix directions.
    These cakes will be extra moist because of the pudding addition and will keep cooking in the hot pan after removed from the oven. Allow to cool in pan before removing to cooling rack or plate.
    Allow to cool in cake pan


    Icing preparation:

    Combine all except nuts and coconut in sauce pan.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly about 12 minutes until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and add coconut and nuts. Blend together until cool and of spreading consistency.
    Spread the coconut / pecan icing mixture on to the cake…let in fridge to cool and set and enjoy your German Chocolate Cake!
