German Chocolate Cake

1 cup sugar
¼ lb.margarine or shortening
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
1-1/4 cup sifted cake flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp.baking soda.
Recipe
Sift dry ingredients together first and then beat together until well blended.
Double for 9x13 pan or two 9” round cakes.
Frosting:
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
¼ lb. margarine (1 stick)
1 t. vanilla
1-1/2 cups coconut
1 cup walnuts or pecans
Combine all except nuts and coconut in sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly about 12 minutes until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and add coconut and huts. Blend together until cool and of spreading consistency.
