1/2 package of 16 oz pkg of Bacon, chopped into small pieces
1/4 yellow onion chopped
1 whole Garlic close, pressed
1 can 14.5 oz can petite diced tomatoes with their juice
3 cans 14.5-16 oz green beans, Italian or regular cut
salt and pepper to taste
Recipe
Fry bacon in large stockpot until fat and juice begin to release.
Add onion and garlic, saute until onion starts to turn color.
Add tomatoes with their juice and simmer for about 5 mins.
Drain off most of the green bean juice and add green beans to pot. You may have to add some water to cover. (I drained all the juice and added 14.5 oz can of beef broth.
Simmer 20-25 mins on med-low heat.
French cut green beans are not appropriate for this recipe.
