Ginger Chicken
List of Ingredients
- 1/4 cup light soya sauce
- 1/4 cup dry sherry or apple juice
- 1 tbs. minced ginger (I prefer in a jar)
- 1 clove of garlic, minced (I prefer 1 tsp. in a jar)
- 1/4 tsp. of salt and pepper
- 1 chicken breast or 4 chicken legs skinned
- 1 tbs. sugar
- 2 tbs. finely chopped green onions (shallots)
Instructions
- In a shallow dish mix soya sauce, ginger, garlic, salt and pepper
- Add chicken, turning to coat evenly, cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours
- Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes
- Strain marinade and disgard garlic and ginger
- Place chicken meat side down on a lightly greased grill over medium high heat
- Cook chicken turning often for 15 minutes
- Stir sugar into reserved marinade and brush over chicken, cook brushing often with marinade for about 15 minutes or until chicken is browned
- Sprinkle green onions (shallots) over chicken and serve
