Belgium Stew (Carbonnade)

List of Ingredients
- 3 lbs. beef stew meat
- 1 1/2 tbsp. oilve oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp. butter
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp. cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups beer (full flvored)
- 2 tsp. brown sugar
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp. Thyme
Instructions
- In a deep pan heat oil and butter
- Add beef and brown on all sides
- Remove beef with a slotted spoon
- Add onions and cook until soft
- Add remaining ingredients and stir
- Return beef to pan
- Cover and place in a 325 degree oven
- Cook for about 2 hours oe until beef is very tender
