- 3/4 CUPS COCOA POWDER
- 3/4 CUP CORNSYRUP OR HONEY
- 1/2 CUP SUGAR
- 1/2 CUP SHORTENING
- 2 EGGS
- 1 3/4 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 TSP SODA
- 2/3 CUP WATER
Instructions
- CREAM TOGETHER THE SUGAR AND SHORTENING
- ADD THE EGGS AND THE CORNSYRUP
- SIFT TOGETHER THE FLOUR, SODA AND COCOA AND ADD TO THE WET INGREDIENTS
- ADD THE WATER AND BEAT WELL
- POUR INTO A GREASED CAKE PAN AND BAKE AT 350 DEGREES ABOUT 25 MINUTES
