    This recipe makes a very good sponge cake. I have used it for making wedding cakes as it is very stable and even jelly rolls.

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/4 lb cake flour
    1 1/4 oz baking powder
    1/2 oz salt
    9 oz shortening ( covo if you can get it )

    1 1/2 lb sugar
    12 oz milk
    1/4 tsp vanilla

    5 eggs
    1/2 cup milk

    Recipe



    Mix the first 3 ingredients together until creamy
    scrape down the mixing bowl

    Mix together and add the next 3 ingredients

    Add in 3 parts the next 2 ingredients

    Pour the mixture onto a bake sheet or into springform bake pans and bake at 325 degrees until a pick inserted comes out clean
