List of Ingredients
- 1 LB WHITE BEANS
- 1 SMALL ONION SLICED
- 1/2 TBSP SALT
- 2 TSP CIDER VINEGAR
- 1/2 TSP PREPARED MUSTARD
- 1 TBSP BROWN SUGAR
- 1/4 CUP MILD FLAVORED MOLASSES
- 1/2 CUP CATSUP
- PINCH PEPPER
- HOT WATER AS NEEDED
- 1/4 LB SALT PORK OR BACON
Instructions
- SOAK BEANS OVERNIGHT IN 1 QT COLD WATER
- ARRANGE THE ONION SLICES IN THE BOTTOM OF A 6 QT CASSEROLE.
- MIX SEASONINGS AND TURN INTO CASSEROLE.
- ADD BEANS AND HOT LIQUID TO COVER
- ARRANGE PORK SLICES ON TOP
- COVER AND BAKE IN A SLOW OVEN ( 250 D ) FOR AT LEAST 7 HOURS.
- AT THE END OF 4 HOURS REMOVE 1 CUP OF BEANS
- MASH AND STIR BACK INTO CASSEROLE.
- ADD LIQUID AS NEEDED
