    List of Ingredients


    • 1 LB WHITE BEANS
    • 1 SMALL ONION SLICED
    • 1/2 TBSP SALT
    • 2 TSP CIDER VINEGAR
    • 1/2 TSP PREPARED MUSTARD
    • 1 TBSP BROWN SUGAR
    • 1/4 CUP MILD FLAVORED MOLASSES
    • 1/2 CUP CATSUP
    • PINCH PEPPER
    • HOT WATER AS NEEDED
    • 1/4 LB SALT PORK OR BACON


    Instructions


    1. SOAK BEANS OVERNIGHT IN 1 QT COLD WATER
    2. ARRANGE THE ONION SLICES IN THE BOTTOM OF A 6 QT CASSEROLE.
    3. MIX SEASONINGS AND TURN INTO CASSEROLE.
    4. ADD BEANS AND HOT LIQUID TO COVER
    5. ARRANGE PORK SLICES ON TOP
    6. COVER AND BAKE IN A SLOW OVEN ( 250 D ) FOR AT LEAST 7 HOURS.
    7. AT THE END OF 4 HOURS REMOVE 1 CUP OF BEANS
    8. MASH AND STIR BACK INTO CASSEROLE.
    9. ADD LIQUID AS NEEDED
