2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
1 CUP SHORTENING
2 EGGS
1 TSP VANILLA
1 LARGE TSP BAKING SODA IN 2 TBSP COLD WATER
2- 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR (ENOUGH TO MAKE A STIFF DOUGH)Recipe
CREAM TOGETHER THE BROWN SUGAR, SHORTENING AND VANILLA. BEAT IN THE EGGS. SIFT THE FLOUR WITH THE BAKING SODA AND MIX TOGETHER. THE DOUGH MAY BE ROLLED OUT AND CUT WITH A DOUGHNUT CUTTER OR DROPPED ON A PAN AND FLATTENED WITH A FORK DIPPED IN COLD WATER.
BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES.
